Official "Unofficial FAQs" FAQQ: Can I make money answering questions at A: No. Not directly, anyway. You can, however, promote yourself, or, more specifically, your web presence by answering questions here, and that could turn out to be more valuable than any amount of money we could ever be able to pay you. Q: So how can I promote my web presence by answering questions at A: Q: How do I submit my list of questions and their corresponding answers to A: Send a file with clearly marked and delimited questions and Q: I have a question for which I myself am looking for an answer, can I submit it? Will I be credited for it? A: Please submit all unanswered questions you have. The first person to ask a given question will receive credit for it until it gets answered. Q: What kind of links can I promote at A: Your name, appended to your answer, will point to a personal homepage or your profile at a social networking site (like MySpace, for example), and a second hyperlink to nearly any site of their choice (like their business' homepage, for example). Only one set of links will be used for all of a contributor's answers. Referral links welcome. Links must be relatively family-friendly, rated R or less. No hate, rascist, homophobic or otherwise bigoted websites. Link acceptability is at our sole discretion. Q: What if I want to contribute questions and but I don't have any hyperlinks to promote? A: That's okay, we'll just put your name down and not have it hyperlinked to anything. When you do get something to promote just e-mail us and we'll change it. Q: What if I want to change my hyperlinks? A: Eventually, as this site grows, we would like to have an automated account system to handle these requests instantly. Until we get that in place, you must e-mail us your request from the e-mail address you used to send in your answers, and we will change each answer's credits. Because of the labor involved, we can only do this once per year per contributor. Q: What if a question has already been answered, but I think I can provide a much better or more complete answer? A: By all means, send it in. We may replace the original answer with yours, giving you sole credit for it. We may leave the original answer intact. Or we may combine the two answers having you share credit with the original answerer. Q: What if, to make a more complete answer, you combine my answer with someone else's? A: The two (or more) of you will share the credit. Names will be listed in the order of whomever contributes the most to the answer, at our sole discretion. Q: What if one my answers becomes outdated? A: It is vital that we keep our information current so people will know they can keep coming back to us for reliable, accurate answers. If someone supplies a better answer than yours, theirs will replace yours, and they will get the credit. Q: So what can I do to make sure I keep getting sole credit for an answer? A: Check back often to see if there should be any changes to your answers. Ensure the continued accuracy of the content you contribute by sending in updated answers. If you don't, somebody else will! Q: So can I just cut and paste questions and answers I found somewhere else? A: Absolutely not! Q: My work got published somewhere else, can I submit it here? A: You cannot submit it as is. |
